Resumo
O jornalismo de investigação era e continua a ser uma das áreas mais prestigiadas do jornalismo, não só em Portugal como em todo o mundo. Contudo, no nosso país não há uma grande aposta por parte das entidades de comunicação nesta vertente de investigação jornalística. Do outro lado do Atlântico, nos Estados Unidos da América, são inúmeras as investigações jornalísticas que existem sobre o tema. Quem não se lembra do caso Spotlight? Apesar disso, em Portugal, mesmo que em menor número, também existem algumas investigações bem sucedidas. O programa Sexta às 9 é desses exemplos a nível nacional. Este trabalho irá centrar-se no jornalismo de investigação em Portugal, procurando compreender como é que este ocorre em território nacional e de que forma os media digitais contribuem, ou não, para o desenvolvimento da área. De modo a conseguir alcançar os objetivos propostos nesta investigação serão realizados dois inquéritos via questionário a dois públicos-alvo: um ao cidadão-comum e outro aos profissionais da área.
Investigative journalism was and still is one of the most prestige areas of journalism, not only in Portugal but around the world. However, in Portugal, there aren’t many communication agencies that want to invest in this type of journalism. On the other side of the Atlantic, in the United States of America, there are numerous journalistic investigations. Who doesn’t remember the Spotlight case? Despite what was previously said, there are a few good examples of investigative journalism in Portugal. The TV show Sexta às 9 is one of the best examples of investigative journalism in Portugal. This research will be focusing on investigative journalism in Portugal, seeking to understand how this type of journalism is applied in Portugal and in which way the digital media helps, or not, developing this area. So that the goals of this dissertation are accomplished, two surveys will be created, shared and analyzed. One of them will be studying the Portuguese audience and the other will be studying Portuguese journalists.
