It is intended to design a preliminary study intervention proposal for the S. Mamede Infesta Green Arc Corridor, which links the Leça River and the Picoutos and Boi Morto rivers, through planning that combines social and recreational component with environmental concerns, taking advantage of the watercourses potencial and the local agricultural landscape mosaic. The study will focus on a green corridor that integrates with the green infrastructure of the municipality of Matosinhos and interconnects with the other green corridors of the municipalities of Porto and Maia, and is therefore an essential instrument for sustainable development in the Porto Metropolitan Area. (AMP). In this sense, it is proposed the definition of the S. Mamede Infesta Green Corridor, which connects the Leça River with the Picoutos and Boi Morto rivers and includes pedestrian paths, bicycle paths, banks of the Leça River and its tributaries, interconnections with the valley landscape and mobility infrastructures, in a proposal that aims to consolidate mobility strategies and the implementation of an ecological structure, promoting sustainable mobility and promoting the quality of the environment in the urban environment. In order to better understand the needs and preferences of the local population and the AMP, a survey was conducted to obtain data on mobility, the willingness to use green spaces and the most appreciated landscape typology. The intervention proposal for the S. Mamede Infesta Green Arc Corridor results in a plan that aims for the rehabilitation of the banks of the Leça river and its tributaries, taking into account the recovery of ecological functions and the valorization of the historical, cultural and natural heritage present in the landscape as well as improving mobility conditions and population preferences over the landscape.
