This research had an almost experimental design, of comparative causative type. The overall purpose was to analyze the effects of four different training methods of aerobic endurance on different levels of body variables in young soccer players aged from 16 to 20 years old. The sample consisted of 28 male soccer players from the youth squads of Belém and Ananindeua aged from 16 to 20 years old, distributed randomly and equally in four experimental groups that trained for twelve weeks in three weekly sessions. Group G1 had trained exclusively technically; G2 trained technically and physically with an intensity ranging from 70 to 78% of VO2max.; G3 trained technically and physically with an intensity around 85% of VO2max. and G4 trained technically and physically with an increasing intensity from 70 to 78% of VO2max.. Anthropometric, body composition, rest and exercise cardiopulmonary and specific motor parameters were evaluated previously and after 12 weeks of training program. The evaluation happened in two days: in the first day anthropometry, body composition and psychomotor tests were performed, and in the second cardiopulmonary variables at rest and in maximum effort were measured through ergospirometry. The data was treated through the SPSS 18.0, through the descriptive statistic (average, standard deviation and normality - Shapiro-Wilk), and inferential statistic tests (student t-test to evaluate the differences between the pre and post-test in each group; General Linear Model to test the variance within and between groups; and the linear correlation of Pearson, to appreciated variables association. A level of p≤0,05 significance was adopted. In the anthropometry and body composition significant changes occurred in G1 in the height, in G2 in the total weight, in the height, in the muscle weight and in the lean body mass, and in G4 in the total weight, in the height and in the muscle weight. No differences between groups were found in anthropometry and body composition variables. In the cardiopulmonary variables at rest occurred significant changes in G1 in the systolic pressure, in G2 in the vital capacity and in the diastolic and systolic blood pressure, in G3 in the heart rate and in the systolic blood pressure, without differences in the variance between groups. In the three moments of the cardiopulmonary effort test occurred significant changes: in G1, in threshold II (in the length, speed, inclination and in the relative and absolute power), and in the maximum effort (in the length, speed, inclination, absolute and relative heart rate, an absolute and relative power); in G2, significant changes occurred at the threshold I (absolute and relative heart rate), threshold II (in the length, speed, inclination and in absolute and relative power), and at maximum effort (in the length, speed, inclination and absolute and relative power); in G3, at threshold II (in the length, speed, inclination and absolute and relative power) and at maximum effort (in the length, speed, inclination and absolute and relative power); in G4, at maximum effort, in absolute and relative VO2. The four trainings programs had different effects in the absolute and relative VO2 variance between groups. In the motor variables significant changes occurred in G1 in the pass efficiency and in the time of ball conduction between obstacles and in speed of ball conduction tests; in G2 in the pass efficiency, in the ball conduction between obstacles and in speed of ball conduction tests; in G3 in ball conduction between obstacles test, and in G4 in ball conduction between obstacles and in speed of ball conduction. No differences between groups were found in motor tests. It was concluded that the different training methods induced several changes in the studied parameters. However, only in some of the cardiopulmonary parameters the effect of training varied between groups. The overall results sugest that the training programs proposed to G1 and G2 are the ones that may induce more favoral changes to young football players, particularly the one performed by G2.
