Item Acesso Aberto What a wonderful world: Portugal in the international posters competition2018-11 - Nascimento, Maria Manuel Da Silva; Martins, José Alexandre V.; Estrada, AssumptaFor the third time, in 2017 Portugal was a participant in the third International Posters Competition of the International Institute of Statistical Literacy, ISLP. The aim of the ISLP competition is supporting, creating, and boosting activities of statistical literacy in every country in the world, materializing through the execution of a project work in statistics and its disclosure by form of a poster. The schools that participated in the first ISLP competition still try to continue, although an effort has been made to involve all the Portuguese schools the fact is that the schools do not involve themselves in this competition. In this paper, we analyse the views of the organizers, the jury members, and of the teachers in the ISLP competitions.Item Acesso Aberto Provesende nas aulas de Matemática no 2º ciclo: contributos para o estudo do património numa aldeia vinhateira do Douro2017 - Catarino, Paula; NASCIMENTO, MARIA MANUEL DA SILVA; Cecília CostaItem Acesso Restrito PDE Model for Leakage Detection in High Pressure Gas Networks2016-09-04 - Azevedo Perdicoúlis, TP; Almeida, Regina; Lopes dos Santos, P; Jank, GIn this paper we design a model based method to locate a leakage and estimate its size in a gas network, using a linearised version of an hyperbolic PDE. To do this, the problem is reduced to two identical ODEs, allowing in this way for a representation of the pressure as well as the mass flow in terms of its system of fundamental solutions. Then using the available measurements at the grid boundary points, the correspondent coefficients can be determined. Assuming pressure continuity, we check for consistency of the coefficients in order to find faulty pipelines. Thence, the location of the leakage can be found either graphically or using a numerical method for a specific pipe. Este desafio impulsionou-nos a estabelecer alguns fundamentos teóricos que sustentam as grandes linhas de orientação de todo o processo de concepção e elaboração do objecto artístico em questão. Para além de algumas breves considerações que tecemos sobre o autor, debruçamo-nos essencialmente sobre os aspectos a ter em conta no que concerne à direcção de actores, a fim de efectuarmos a materialização artística da nossa visão do espectáculo. De todos esses aspectos, destacamos por um lado, as orientações relativas às personagens que se apresentam como arquétipos, por outro lado, as relativas ao espaço que surge como um universo multiplicador de objectos.
