O teatro como meio de animação sociocultural em contexto escolar

Resumo
Este trabalho pretende estudar as questões relacionadas com o Teatro e a Educação, no contexto da escola pública atual. Visamos, assim, obter algumas respostas a questões que, à partida, se nos colocaram, no que diz respeito à utilização do Teatro, como meio de Animação Sociocultural numa escola secundária.
Neste contexto, delimitamos o problema da investigação que se consubstancia em duas dimensões: a entrada do aluno numa nova escola e num novo ciclo de estudos e o desenvolvimento integral do jovem, condição indispensável para o exercício de uma cidadania de pleno direito. Definimos, então, como objetivo principal da investigação: compreender e aprofundar o estudo da importância das práticas teatrais, na formação dos jovens, no âmbito do desenvolvimento pessoal, no contexto de uma integração plena e de uma participação ativa na escola que frequentam.
Procedemos à estruturação do enquadramento teórico, a partir da revisão crítica da literatura de referência, na área em estudo, que apresentamos no Capítulo II (O Teatro e a Animação Sociocultural) e no Capítulo III (O Teatro na Educação).
No que concerne o referencial empírico, descrevemos a opção metodológica, assim como os métodos e técnicas de recolha de dados. Neste âmbito, tendo em conta a realidade a estudar, optámos por um certo pluralismo metodológico, que incluiu o estudo qualitativo, mas também o quantitativo, facto que necessariamente orientou a seleção das técnicas de recolha dos dados. Num primeiro momento, recolhemos dados, através de entrevistas feitas a três profissionais cuja ação está diretamente ligada ao teatro como meio de intervenção. Posteriormente, aplicámos um questionário às três turmas do 10º ano de escolaridade, da Escola Secundária da Boa Nova. Finalmente recorremos à pesquisa documental procedendo à análise dos documentos orientadores da escola em questão.
Após a análise dos resultados obtidos, verificámos que o desenvolvimento de capacidades, tais como a comunicação, a criatividade e o sentido crítico, é uma necessidade sentida pelos jovens inquiridos. Por outro lado, pudemos confirmar, também, que a utilização do Teatro é comprovadamente um fator importante de mudança, de crescimento e de integração dos alunos. Julgámos, pois, que o presente trabalho vem dar mais um contributo para a reflexão, no sentido de construir uma escola que, ciente do seu papel na educação dos alunos, se reinvente pela criação de outros espaços educativos, para além da sala de aula.
The purpose of this project is the study of Theatre and Education related issues in the context of today’s state school. The target therefore is to obtain answers to certain queries which were on our minds from the very beginning, in what concerns the utilization of Theatre as a means of Socio-Cultural Animation in a secondary school. In this context we have considered two dimensions in the research process: the student’s arrival at a new school and a new cycle of studies, and the student’s integrated development, an indispensable condition to exert a full right citizenship. We have, thus, defined as the main purpose of the research to reach the full understanding and amplify the study of the importance that theatrical practices may have for the students’ individual development, in the context of a full integration and an active participation in the school they attend. We have structured the theoretical framing based on a critical appreciation of the reference literature on the subject, which will be presented in Chapter II (Theatre and Socio-Cultural Animation) and in Chapter III (Theatre in Education) In what concerns the empirical references, we describe the methodological option, as well as the methods and techniques used in gathering data. In this context, taking into consideration the reality we are studying, we chose a certain methodological pluralism, which included both qualitative and quantitative study. That has necessarily oriented our selection of data gathering techniques. We started by collecting data through interviews to three professionals whose activity is directly related to theatre as a means of intervention. We then submitted a questionnaire to the three 10th form classes of Boa nova Secondary School. Finally, we orientated our research to the analysis of the guiding documents in that school. After a thorough analysis of the results obtained, we concluded that the development of skills such as communication, creativity and critical judgement is something that the youngsters inquired feel as a need. On the other hand, we could also confirm that the utilization o theatre is undoubtedly an important factor in the students’ transformation, growth and integration. We therefore consider that the present work will add another element to this reflection, in the sense of building a school which, conscious of its role on the students’ education, will reinvent itself by creating educational spaces other than the classroom.
