The present work, "Satellite Images in the Everyday of the Classroom: A methodologically proposal for the teaching of sciences and for educational communication", has as central objective to attest that satellite images provide information which build geoscientific concepts that when supported by educational communication promote a significant learning process. To theoretically contextualize the approached theme a broad literature review was carried out, searching for the authors of reference in various areas, the most up to date literature and the diversification of sources, such as books, dissertations, thesis and articles in indexed publications. The explored problematic centers on the favoring of geoscientific knowledge acquisition as a means to promote an apprehension and comprehension of the reality of the globalized world through the satellite images as a pedagogical resource which we believe to be rooted in Reuven Feuerstein's Theory of Cognitive Modifiability, presenting itself as the conditio sine qua non to achieve a positive modifiability in the individual and the generation of a significant learning as postulated by Ausubel. Brazil today is the largest distributor of satellite images in the world, however, it is necessary for the teachers to be familiar with the imagetic language utilized by remote sensing in the representation of space so they can insert them in their pedagogical practice, therefore inserting new technologies in the daily school practice. Starting from this premise a methodology of image reading was formulated having as theoretical basis Wolfgang Iser's Reception Aesthetics and the teachers participating in the research were trained for the development of the Environmental National Curricular Parameters with the use of satellite images through an active teaching methodology. For the gathering of data a partnership with 14 teachers of Geography and Biology and 214 students from the 6th and 7th grade of high school in three separate private educational units with good respectability for their service in their neighborhoods situated in different geographical areas of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro - Brazil - providing service to a diversified public displaying variations in the municipal Human Development Index. The research contemplated two differing yet complementary moments, the first of quantitative character with the application of pre-test and post-test to the students of the control and experimental group where the concepts of Space, Landscape, Territory, Region, Place, Network and Scale were discussed utilizing satellite images. The gathered data was submitted to statistical analysis. The second moment, of qualitative character, focused on content analysis of the class diaries of the teachers from the three researched units. Through the statistical results obtained by the tests it was ascertained a greater need for investment in the Technologies of Information and Communication of the researched educational units, as well as the better qualification of the teachers due to the educational needs of the information and knowledge society in which we live. It was also made evident that systematizing and problematizing experiences with teacher practices and students utilizing new means and innovative resources of learning in the process of educational communication contribute to the development of significant concepts and a consistent and conscious project of education. This researched allowed us to observe that in contemporary society very little of what we know in regards to produced knowledge arrives to us through the means of different technologies, which in turn construct images of the world producing a natural relationship with themselves from a standpoint of familiarity with its codes and imagetic symbols.
