A Experiência Docente no 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e a Promoção da Leitura: uma reflexão crítica

Resumo
O presente Relatório de Atividade Profissional, desenvolvido no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e de Português, História e Geografia de Portugal do 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, pretende fazer uma descrição reflexiva sobre o desenvolvimento da minha atividade docente mais relevante nos últimos 7 anos, no 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, em que contextos decorre, assim como, é efetuada uma caraterização dos discentes, do meio ambiente e da instituição, com o intuito de transmitir a informação de uma forma mais completa e precisa de todo o trabalho realizado. Sendo o tema central das minhas práticas a promoção da leitura com vista à criação de comunidades leitoras, este relatório aborda as atividades, as estratégias e os métodos desenvolvidos na aprendizagem e na criação de hábitos de leitura.
Partindo da revisão da literatura, apresenta-se o enquadramento teórico deste relatório, relacionado com a aprendizagem e a promoção da leitura, nomeadamente sobre o conceito de ler, a importância da leitura como condição essencial de cidadania, o contributo da leitura na educação da criança e explanando as áreas de intervenção pedagógica. Este relatório aborda a importância que um ambiente estimulante da sala de aula pode ter na promoção e apropriação da leitura, nomeadamente no que se refere à sua organização e funcionalidade. Para além disso, aborda-se o papel da família da criança na criação do gosto pela leitura, como complemento da escola.
O primeiro contacto com as atividades de aprendizagem da leitura pode determinar o sucesso no desenvolvimento futuro das competências e do interesse pela leitura, daí propor um conjunto de abordagens à leitura passíveis de contribuir para o reforço do Português no Ensino Básico, como condicionante fundamental do futuro do indivíduo. São referidas as limitações deste Relatório de Atividade Profissional, relacionadas com o restrito universo escolar em que se desenvolveu a minha atividade docente e com a escassez de materiais pedagógicos nas escolas periféricas.
Numa perspetiva futura, são sugeridas três linhas de investigação relacionadas com a influência da família na criação de hábitos de leitura, com as variáveis extrínsecas/intrínsecas do aluno na aprendizagem da leitura e, por fim, com o declínio contínuo da motivação para a leitura após o 4.º ano.
The present Professional Activity Report developed under the Master's Degree in Teaching of 1st Cycle of Basic Education and Portuguese, History and Geography of Portugal on 2nd Cycle of Basic Education, intends to make a reflective description of the development of my most relevant teaching activity in the last 7 years, in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, in which contexts are developed, as well as a characterization of the students, the environment and the institution, to transmit the information in a more complete and accurate way of all the work done. As the focus of my practice is the promotion of reading for the creation of reading communities, this report addresses the activities, strategies and methods developed in learning and reading habits. Based on the literature review, the theoretical framework of this report, related to learning and reading promotion, namely on the concept of reading, the importance of reading as an essential condition of citizenship, the contribution of reading in the education of the child and explaining the areas of pedagogical intervention. This report addresses the importance that a stimulating classroom environment can have in promoting and appropriating reading, particularly with regard to its organization and functionality. In addition, the role of the child's family in the creation of the pleasure for reading, as a complement of the school, is approached. The first contact with reading learning activities can determine success in the future development of competences and interest in reading, hence proposing a set of approaches to reading that may contribute to reinforcement Portuguese in Basic Education, as a fundamental condition on the future of each person. The limitations of this Professional Activity Report are mentioned, related to the restricted school universe in which my teaching activity was developed and the shortage of pedagogical materials in the peripheral schools. In a future perspective, three lines of research are suggested related to the influence of the family in the creation of reading habits, with the extrinsic/intrinsic variables of the student in the learning of the reading and, finally, with the continuous decline of the motivation to the reading after the 4th year.
