O presente trabalho tem como objetivo principal a caracterização da Região de Trás-osMontes em termos de potencial turístico. Para mostrar esses recursos devidamente mapeados, detalhados e com uma localização precisa e georeferenciada, foi utilizada plataforma ArcGis 10.5, que permite criar projetos em Sistemas de Informação Geográfica bem como o Google Earth, que é um sistema aberto e livre que permite procurar locais e visualizar sobre ortofotomapas. O Projeto “Caracterização da Região de Trás-os-Montes em termos de Potencial Turístico”, tem como objetivo caracterizar, catalogar e divulgar os pontos turísticos da região, sendo esses em recursos naturais, monumentos históricos, artes rupestres, praias fluviais, rios, gastronomia, religião entre outros, que agregam e potencializam a região em termos turísticos. Foi feito um mapa da região de Trás-os-Montes e, a partir do mapa, foram identificados todosos lugares (sítios) e seus respectivos pontos turísticos, que muitas vezes, não são divulgados, em toda a região. O que se pretende com esse trabalho é georeferenciar e mostrar em mapas, todos os pontos de interesses turísticos na região de Trás-os-Montes. Desta forma, fica criada a base de trabalho em ambiente SIG que pode ser instalada num posto de turismo e usada pelos turistas para criar os seus próprios percursos turísticos e também para ter conhecimento da região. Também será criada a estrutura de uma plataforma WebSIG que permitirá, o acesso remoto a informação disponibilizada em Sistemas de Informação Geográfica.

The present work has as main objective the characterization of the Trás-os-Montes Region in terms of tourism potential. In order to show these resources properly mapped, detailed and with a precise location and georeferenced, was used platform ArcGis 10.5, that allows to create projects in Geographic Information Systems as well as Google Earth, that is an open and free system that allows to look for places and to visualize about orthophotomaps. The project "Characterization of the Trás-os-Montes Region in terms of Tourist Potential", aims to characterize, catalog and disseminate the region's tourist attractions, such as natural resources, historical monuments, rock art, river beaches, gastronomy, religion, among others, that add and enhance the region in terms of tourism. A map of the region of Trás-os-Montes was made and from the map, all places (places) and their respective tourist points were identified, which are often not divulged, throughout the region. The aim of this work is to georeference and show on maps, all points of tourist interest in the region of Trás-os-Montes. In this way, the work base is created in a GIS environment that can be installed in a tourist office and used by tourists to create their own tourist routes and also to have knowledge of the region. The structure of a WebSIG platform will also be created, which will allow remote access to information made available in Geographic Information Systems.
