O jornalismo televisivo e o jornalismo online – convergências e divergências: o caso da SIC e do Porto Canal

Resumo
Atualmente estamos perante uma transformação na forma como a sociedade acede às notícias. Se até ao fim do século XX víamos a televisão como o principal meio de comunicação social, agora em pleno século XXI começam a notar-se algumas transformações, como por exemplo o maior uso dos sites noticiosos em detrimento da televisão e a utilização das redes sociais para ter acesso mais rápido a notícias de última hora, quer nacionais, quer internacionais. O facto de no nosso dia a dia podermos estar a substituir os meios de comunicação tradicionais, como a televisão fez com que existisse um interesse em poder provar que talvez isto esteja a acontecer e de que modo tal acontece. As transformações e inovações tecnológicas têm começado a sentir-se nos meios de comunicação social e estes têm sofrido alterações. É a partir desta ideia que pretendemos realizar este estudo, evidenciando as alterações que a tecnologia trouxe para os meios de comunicação e de que forma pode ser uma vantagem ou desvantagem. Ao longo da análise teórica dos locais de estágio, pretendemos analisar os diferentes meios de comunicação que servem como plano para a realização do estudo (a SIC e o Porto Canal), isto é, a televisão e os meios noticiosos online, perceber qual a sua história e a evolução na sociedade portuguesa sendo ainda importante perceber de que forma um e outro interagem com a sociedade e entre eles. A análise aos dois locais de estágio (a SIC e o Porto Canal) também estará patente nesta fase, de modo a ser possível localizar o nosso estudo. Ao longo do estudo de caso será importante analisar a sociedade: perceber de que modo as pessoas têm alterado os seus meios de acesso à comunicação social, bem como tentar perceber que vantagens e desvantagens consideram importantes num e noutro e tentar localizar qual o tipo de população mais afetada pela entrada dos noticiários online no quotidiano social. Através de provas concretas, como estatísticas, audiências e mesmo a resposta de alguns cidadãos através da realização de inquéritos online e em formato papel para ser possível chegar a todas as gerações e não só àquelas que utilizam os meios online. Os inquéritos serão sobre quais os meios de comunicação frequentemente utilizados e tentar-se-á chegar à conclusão de que alterações têm sofrido os media e também provar a facilidade com que os meios online nos chegam e por isso a facilidade em aceder a este tipo de notícias que acabam por ser notícias dadas sempre na hora. Com a realização dos dois estágios abordados a perceção acerca do assunto é mais fácil e perceber-se-á ao longo do estudo que os meios online podem criar divergências com os meios tradicionais mas maioritariamente são meios que se unem e que trabalhados em conjunto conseguem atingir um maior número de pessoas e que atualmente funcionam melhor um com o outro.
Nowadays we are facing a transformation in the way society accesses news. Until the end of the twentieth century we saw television as the main mass media channel, however in the twenty-first century we star to notice some transformations, such as the use of news websites rather than television and the use of social media for a faster access to national or international breaking news. The fact that in our daily life’s we can replace television as a traditional mass media channel, created an interest in proving that maybe this is happening and in what way it happens. The mass media, which has suffered changes, has started to feel the technological transformations and innovations. I want to perform this study based on this idea, highlighting the changes that technology brought to the mass media and the ways in which it can be an advantage or a disadvantage. Throughout the theoretical analysis, I intend to analyze the different means of mass media that are used to accomplish this study (SIC and Porto Canal) namely television and online news, understanding what is their story and evolution in the Portuguese society, and the ways in which both interact with society and among them. The analysis of both locations of internship will be evident at this stage, enabling pinpointing our study. During the case study, it will be important to examine society: understand the way it has altered their own mass media access, as well as trying to understand which advantages and disadvantages are considered important in them. Also, try to locate the kind of population that is most affected by the appearance of online news in everyday life. Through concrete proof, such as statistics, ratings and even surveys answered online and on paper by citizens, it will be possible to reach all generations and not only those who use online tools. The surveys will be about which mass media are most frequently used, and I will try to reach a conclusion of what changes mass media has suffered and also prove the ease in which online mass media comes to us and by that, the easiness to access this type of breaking news. With the completion of two internships the perception about the subject is easier. Through the study it will be possible to understand that online media can create a divergence with the traditional media outlets. However, predominantly, both of them can come together, reaching a bigger number of people and working better this way today.
