| dc.description.abstract | O estudo teórico desenvolvido nesta dissertação focou-se na problemática do (In)Sucesso Escolar procurando identificar os motivos que influenciam a realidade que encontramos na escola. Nesta perspectiva, procuramos explicar o conceito de (In)Sucesso Escolar através de estudos empíricos realizados por diversos autores onde pudemos verificar as suas teorias, o desencadeamento gradual deste fenómeno e as suas causas. Tendo em conta o acima exposto, estruturou-se o trabalho em duas partes fundamentais. A primeira parte foi referente aos estudos teóricos sobre o (In)Sucesso Escolar acima mencionados e na segunda parte foi apresentada a investigação de carácter qualitativo acerca dos motivos que 32 alunos do 9º ano de escolaridade viam como influenciadores do (In)Sucesso Escolar. Os resultados advinham de inquéritos destinados a verificar “As Causas de Sucesso e Factores de Abandono” dos alunos de uma escola do centro da Cidade de Vila Real. As questões abordavam os temas do domínio social, económico e motivação. Dentro destes domínios, foram analisados os 6 motivos que assinalaram maior importância segundo as respostas dos inquiridos e concluímos que a relação da família com o rendimento dos alunos, o factor socioeconómico e a motivação eram de maior relevância. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | In this study I will focus on the school (un)success and exam it by trying to identify the reasons that affect the reality we face in schools. In this perspective, I'll try to explain the concept of school (un)success using empirical studies made by different authors, exploring their theories and the ongoing development of this phenomena and its causes. Therefore, this study is divided in two major parts: the first explores the theory published about school (un)success, and the second presents the qualitative investigation based on the reasons that 32 students of the Portuguese 9th grade considered to affect school (un)success. The results came from questionnaires made to students of one school in the city center of Vila Real and they seek to evaluate the "Reasons for success and motives that lead to drop out". The social and the economical environment as well as the motivation were explored in this questionnaire that allowed us not only to analyze the 6 reasons that, according to the student's answers, were considered to be the most important, but also to conclude that there's a connection between their family relationship and their performance as well as the relevance of social-economical factors and motivation to their school (un)success. | eng |
