O “Maravilhoso Popular” no Imaginário Infantil

Resumo
A Literatura Infantil é uma componente essencial na formação e desenvolvimento dos mais pequenos. Ela lida com a capacidade imaginativa da criança, abre-a ao fascínio que se experimenta com as histórias e contos recontados e reinventados por cada um.
Os contos têm ensinamentos que ajudam a criança a conhecer-se a si e ao Outro, a compreender o mundo, ao mesmo tempo que estimulam a sua imaginação. Esse universo mágico-poético, que habita e incrementa o imaginário individual e colectivo, coloca-nos algumas perguntas. E uma das mais espantosas questões que o conto nos coloca é a da sua sobrevivência e significação num mundo em constante mutação.
Associadas a esta questão, existem outras igualmente pertinentes: a natureza deste tipo de literatura; o seu percurso desde os tempos imemoriais até aos nossos dias; as personagens que co-habitam nesse universo; a importância do maravilhoso para as crianças e o despertar do seu imaginário; o significado profundo desses contos para a mente infantil e a sua utilidade em contexto pedagógico.
No âmbito da prática pedagógica, analisamos as interpretações em actividades de expressão, tais como composições, recontos, desenhos, num grupo de crianças em idade escolar. O grupo é composto por quarenta e cinco crianças do concelho de Santo Tirso e as obras que seleccionamos são oito contos tradicionais do escritor António Mota. A interpretação criativa das histórias pelas crianças permitiu pôr em destaque as dimensões do imaginário constitutivas das culturas infantis, factores motivacionais da leitura e aspectos metodológicos presentes numa pedagogia da leitura orientada para a fruição do texto, a aprendizagem da língua materna e a construção de valores sociais inclusivos nos contos populares.
Este estudo permitiu-nos sublinhar que os contos tradicionais continuam muito vivos, actuais e a fazer as delícias dos pequenotes.
Com estes pressupostos consideramos cumpridos os objectivos desta dissertação, intitulada: O maravilhoso popular no imaginário infantil.
Children’s literature is an essential component of the education and development of the younger ones. It deals with the imaginative capacity of the child, opens them up to the enchantment experienced with the stories and tales retold and reinvented by each one. The tales have lessons that help the child to get to know themselves and others, to understand the world, whilst stimulating their imagination. This poetic-magical universe, which inhabits and increases the individual and collective imaginary, raises some questions. And one of the more surprising questions that tales bring forward is that of ones survival and significance in a constantly changing world. Associated to this question, exist others that are equally pertinent: the nature of this type of literature; its course from immemorial times to our day and age; the characters that co-inhabit in that universe; the importance of the extraordinary for children and the awakening of their imaginary; the underlying meaning of these tales on the young mind and its usefulness in the pedagogical context. In the field of pedagogical practise, we analysed the interpretations in creative activities, such as esssays, storytelling, drawings, of a school age group of children. The group is made up of fourty five children from the Santo Tirso municipality and the works chosen are eight traditional tales by the author António Mota. The childrens creative interpretation of the stories allowed to place in the limelight the magnitude of the constitutive imaginary of juvenile culture, motivational factors of the literature and methodological aspects present in the pedagogy of the literature set towards the text’s fruition, the learning of the mother tongue language and the building of social values inclusive in traditional tales. This study permitted to underline that the traditional tales continue very much alive, present and delighting the little ones. With these presuppositions we consider to have been accomplished, the objectives of this thesis entitled: The marvellous tradition in the childish imaginary.
