O bilinguismo e a diversidade linguística: perspetiva europeia e regional, ao nível das línguas e falares

Resumo
Esta Dissertação, apresentada à Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, constitui o resultado de uma abordagem à temática do bilinguismo e da diversidade
linguística numa perspetiva regional e europeísta, ao nível dos falares e das línguas que
lhes são inerentes, no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino de Português no 3.º Ciclo do
Ensino Básico e Ensino Secundário e de Espanhol nos Ensinos Básico e Secundário.
Procura-se demonstrar a partir de uma contextualização histórica da região
raiana de Trás-os-Montes, face às comunidades autónomas da Galiza e de Castela e
Leão, que a existência de falares próprios e de um dialeto convertido em língua oficial
minoritária é uma fonte de estudo de extrema importância para os temas do bilinguismo
e da diversidade linguística. As fundamentações teóricas giram em torno da
caraterização destas regiões numa perspetiva diacrónica, desde o surgimento destes
fenómenos linguísticos até à atualidade, realçando aspetos geográficos, eclesiásticos e
momentos históricos determinantes.
Pretende-se demonstrar que o estudo da geografia humana tem colocado em
evidência que as fronteiras existem como meras convenções políticas, pois a realidade
exibe zonas de transição onde se encontram e interpenetram caraterísticas das unidades
em contacto. O mesmo se verifica com os factos linguísticos.
Defende-se que num espaço europeu sem fronteiras se espera uma maior
abertura e apoio à diversidade linguística e o consequente aumento de falantes
bilingues.
This Essay aims at the reflexive analysis on an europeist and local perspective of the linguistic diversity and bilinguism thematic at the level of the languages and local speakings concerning the Portuguese and Spanish Master in the Basic and Secondary School, from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. It aims at demonstrating through a historical contextualization of the border region of Trás-os-Montes facing the communities of Galiza and Castela e Leão, that the existence of local speakings and of a dialect converted into a minority official language is a very important study source to the bilinguism and linguistic diversity themes. The theoritical reasons are related with the characterization of these regions in a diachronic perspective since the appearence of these linguistic phenomena until now, putting in evidence geographical, ecclesiastical and historical determinating aspects. It also aims at demonstrating that the study of the human geography puts in evidence that the borders exist as mere political conventions, therefore reality shows transition areas where characteristics of the unities in contact meet and interpenetrate. The same occurs with the linguistic facts. Notice that in an european space without borders we wait for a bigger support and opening to the linguistic diversity and the consequent increase of bilingual speakers.
